Dear members of the Institute of Geography,

we would like to invite you to the colloquium talk next Tuesday (31.01.2023) by Shubhangi Srivastava on "A tail of two cities: Human-dog relations in urban India and Germany".

Shubhangi Srivastava is a PhD Scholar at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore, India. She has submitted her thesis on Urbanisation and it's impact on human-street dog relations in urban India. She completed her doctoral research with the European Research Council Starting Horizon 2020 grant project "Urban Ecologies of nonhumans in global South".

Before joining her PhD in 2018, Shubhangi completed her M.Phil. with the University of Delhi where she submitted her dissertation on "human-monkey conflict in Northern India". She was funded by the National Science Foundation grant with the University of California, Davis.

Shubhangi is a trained anthropologist and more than human geographer. She is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to study urbanisation, urban systems and human- nonhuman spaces. She received the "Women in Natural Sciences " fellowship to visit Berlin in Nov-December 2022 to work on human-nonhuman natures and urbanisation effects across India and Germany.
