25.05.2023 | Candidates for the TT professorship Conservation & Development

Dear all,

on May 10 and May 25 we will have five exciting candidates interviewing for the new tenure track professorship in Conservation & Development. This is a great opportunity to meet a future colleague, to learn about the interesting research they do, and to show that we are a welcoming department. I would like to warmly invite you all to attend the research talks - the line up is shown at the end of this email. Each of the individual research talks will be followed by a teaching sample (lecture/seminar on the topic Decolonizing Conservation').

In addition to meeting with the commission, the candidates will have the chance to meet people from the institute in a less formal setting. The idea is to get to know them a bit better and to provide a space where they can ask questions about how it is to work in Berlin, at HU and at the department. Everyone is welcome to this meeting - please let me know if you are interested in participating in this. These informal meetings will take place in the afternoon on the 10th and 25th of May in room 0'201 (meting space next to the entrance) with this schedule:

May 10
- Dr. Ranjini Murali 2:30 – 3:30 pm
- Dr. Isabel Díaz Reviriego 3:45 – 4:45 pm
- Dr. Dominic Martin 5:00 – 6:00 pm

May 25, 2023
- Dr. Candice Carr Kelman tbd (likely 11-12am)
- Dr. Onintsoa Ravaka Andriamihaja 5:00 – 6:00 pm (online)

It would be great if many of you can make it. The biogeography lab will for sure be represented, but it would be fantastic to have people from other groups and across the department to participate.

Thank you much!
Tobias
