Data Privacy Notice

In its work, the Geography Department at the Humboldt University of Berlin strictly follows the applicable data protection provisions as stipulated by the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Berlin Data Security Act (BlnDSG). Personal information will not be disclosed to any third parties. The requested information will be scientifically evaluated while safeguarding data privacy provisions. The results of the survey will only be processed and presented in an anonymised form.

How were you selected?

People who moved within Berlin during the past two years were randomly selected for this survey. This group information according to Section 28 Art. 3 Berlin Registration Law was approved by the Senate Administration for the Interior and Sports since there is public interest in research.

What happens with your information in the questionnaire?

Your answers will be translated into numbers and processed without using your name or address. The overall result and the results of partial groups will be displayed in tables and charts. Consequently, it is not possible to trace the information back to individual persons.

Each questionnaire is marked by a number. This number serves organisational purposes to prevent sending the questionnaire to persons who already completed it. Furthermore, this number serves as the password for the online survey. This allows us to make sure that people do not complete multiple surveys. After the conclusion of this project, all address data will be completely deleted.
