Staff Visit Berlin 2023
Dr. Frank Edward, University of Dar es Salaam, is a leading historian in the upcoming field of the history of technology and transport in Africa, and a founding member of the Society for the History of Technology Africa Chapter. One of his main fields of research is the history of bicycling on the continent, on which he will lead class in the course "Transport in African History" (AGNES: 53748 ). Sessions take place on Tuesday 6 June. Dr. Edward will also give a public lecture on Wednesday 7 June in the IAAW Afrikakolloquium entitled "From ‘Welfare’ Centres to DDC Parks: The Making of Spending Cultures in Colonial and Socialist Dar es Salaam, Tanzania" (Invalidenstr. 118 Room 410, 16:00-17:30)
