Doctoral examination process

The procedure for receiving a PhD at the Geography Department is based on the currently valid regulations of the doctoral examination process at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin:

Specifics on the doctoral examination process at the Geography Department:

  • Admission

At the Geography Department, the PhD candidate and the supervisor sign a doctoral supervision agreement including an exposé, a time schedule, the application for admission and the generally requested documents (see here). All these documents have to be presented to the PhD committee of the Geography Department.

  • It feels responsible for networking of the PhD candidates among each other, for example at regular tables or meetings.
