At the Geography Department Dr. Mohsen Makki (room 0'202) is at your disposal for further questions during his consultation hour. Concerning your questions about the ERASMUS programme, you can also write an E-Mail to the ERASMUS team of the Geography Department.

The Club Orbis Humboldtianus offers an information desk, numerous events, a language exchange market, the mentoring programme Studis4Studis and a number of other activities.

The Fachschaft is the student initiative at the Geography Department. During term-time the Fachschaft holds office hours nearly every day at room 1’104. In addition, a Geo-Newsletter is published by the Fachschaft, covering a lot of valuable information on teaching, exams, special lectures, internships, student jobs, up-to-date information on lectures and seminars, also additional courses or cancellations, lost property etc. It is very useful to subscribe to Newsletter here.

The Studentische Studienberatung helps students to cope with organising their studies. There are office hours twice a week.

In addition, Doris Schwedler, the coordinator at the study and exams office, may answer any question about the study of geography at Humboldt University.

At the beginning of the winter term (Wintersemester) an introductory tutorial (Einführungstutorium) is held for beginners, and the fresher’s week, here called “Orientierungstage”. The aim of these initiatives is to help freshers to find their way through the intricacies of starting their student career at Humboldt and to get to know Adlershof and the Department of Geography.
