About me
I have a bachelor's degree in Biology (University of Lisbon) and a master's degree in Ecology, Environment and Territory (University of Porto). With a background in ecology, my research experience has focused on applying literature synthesis, and both statistical and spatial analyses to understand different global change phenomena such as climate and land use change, as well as species' invasions. Through the years, I have developed a guenine interest in interdisciplinary, social-ecological research, especially while working as a research fellow on a project tackling the relationship between farming systems, biodiversity and ecosystem services.
In my PhD I will address agriculture frontiers in tropical dry forests, understanding deforestation and advancing agricultural frontiers, their impacts on biodiversity, ecosystem services and local livelihoods, and understanding how these systems may be governed towards more sustainable pathways.
