The master program is taught completely in German. The courses taught vary each semester and are listed in Agnes.

There are two compulsory cultural and social geography courses which have to be taken in the first year of the bachelor: “Regional development processes” and “Social and cultural aspects of big cities”.

Several elective courses are offered each year from members of the cultural and social geography department, including one two-week long field trip.

Additionally, students can take courses from the department of urban sociology and urban ethnography for their “überfachlicher Wahlpflichbereich”.
