German Geography Congress (DKG), 1-6 Oct. 2015, attracted over 2,200 participants

Lecture by Curtis Woodcock from Boston University

Humboldt-University's Geography Department organized the bi-annual DKG from 1-6 Oct 2015 that attracted 2,200 participants. At a session on the role of Big Data and Remote Sensing, keynote speaker Curtis Woodcock from Boston University (and leader of the Landsat Science Team) presented on "How access to more observations is improving what we can do with remote sensing?" (session LN-FS-20 at http://www.dkg2015.hu-berlin.de/index.php?article_id=45). After co-statements by researchers from the German remote sensing community, the podium discussion focused on data availability, data integration (e.g. Landsat and Sentinel-2) and future processing needs.
