Urban climate and air pollution

Within research priority Urban Climate and Air Pollution Control we are concerned with interactions between atmosphere and urban structures. We are particularly focussed on:

  • effects of urban structures (i.a. building structure, open spaces, traffic, residents' behaviour, surface sealing etc.) on climate and air quality
  • impacts of these structures on climate change and vice versa
  • challenges through and adaptabilities to climate change in urban space
  • spatial and temporal high-resolution modelling and visualisation of these processual relations
