Aquatic Ecogeography

The Aquatic Ecogeography department investigates how global change affects freshwater (especially river) ecosystems. For this we combine methods of hydrology, nature conservation biology, habitat modeling and biogeographical approaches. We deal with 5 mm macroinvertebrates, fish, and freshwater megafauna (30kg +). We consider spatial scales from the smallest river section, through catchment areas, to continental and global river networks. For further information please see the official IGB lab website.
